Our work is inspired in part by photographer Todd Pickering who pursued this with a film camera for the Mac app ' Sundial' in the mid 1990s.
Capturing 24 hour long sequences is extremely difficult and often requires many compromises to get right. Hal & Josh put in extraordinary effort to capture and master the images in the app at professional quality. They began filming in 2011 and have continually evolved their capture techniques and technologies since. All terrestrial photography was professionally captured by Hal Bergman and Josh Michaels. The two person team behind Magic Window has been working together for more than eight years to capture the photos for this app.
